Company Profile

History:

Lending Works was formed in August 2007. After 8 months of training the Board is fully equipped and ready to start lending. We recognized that many individuals have a compelling desire to be self-employed. But starting capital or the finances to grow their business has been a big hindrance to realizing their dream. Lending Works was formed with the hope of bridging this gap.

I am the President of Lending Works, Inc. I was born in San Francisco. I live in Davis with my mom and my uncle. They are from Nicaragua. I love to tell jokes and play on the computer. I also love to work with kids and have been a summer camp counselor for several years. I am the co-owner of a business. I do the graphic design for Buttons 'n Bears, Oh My! We sell magnets and pin-back buttons as well as teddy bears. I love animals, meeting new people and learning new things. I love my life!

My name is Kristi. I am the Secretary of Lending Works, Inc. I live in my own apartment in Davis, CA. This is my third year working at Korematsu Elementary School as a playground aide. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, listening to music and playing games on my Xbox.

Hi. My name is Kevin Lee. I am the Treasurer of Lending Works, Inc. I also work for the City of Davis in the Public Works Department and at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) . I also have additional work as a bookkeeper for a small landscaping company. I enjoy volunteering at TROTR in Woodland, CA once a week. By the way, did I mention I love fish? Not the ones you eat. I have some pet fish at home.

NOTE: The Board is formed of self-advocates who steer the decisions and operations of Lending Works, Inc.

Who We Are:

We are a non-profit organization.

We provide services to individuals who are clients of Alta Regional Center and/or live in Northern California.

We give interest free loans of up to $3,000.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Applicants must file a complete application packet that includes the following three items below.

Business plan

Two letters of references showing support.

A valid ID.
